This season started off well as Team Belfius decided to go full Black-Yellow-Red!
A podium spot was secured in the first cup of the season for Hubert Rousseau (Copa de la Historia de los Andes). After that we went looking for the YC in Giro di Montelbano, but an immediate off-day for Joannes Van Hoeijveldt in the King Stage took away all hope.
We took a risk by triggering Average Thomas' topform in Norway. After initial off-days from our captain and an injury for Hubert Rousseau the team looked demoralised at first, but our captain showed his true colours by securing some amazing results and an incredible 2nd place in the GC.
The 5th place at Hawaii was another morale booster the team needed to initiate an amazing season of heights.
Jean Vleminx sprinted to the podium in Lappi, Finland; Dolf showed a glimpse of his true potential in a lot of races this season, several teammates (Antonio, Bert, Laurend...) surfed their way on this wave of success.
As we started to feel very comfortable in Division 2 the riders started to become more ambitious and they decided to try and taste a bite of Topdivision.
Perhaps just in time to make Average Thomas wear the rainbow jersey...?
All in all this season has been great as we also managed to grab our first World Tour victory with Jean Vleminx in a home match, thereby helping Team Belgium and Tacticman achieving victory this season in WTA in his first season as National Team manager.
But as we say in Belgium: Unity makes power.

It's amazing to see how the team came together in the second half of the season! A force to be reckoned with!
Book shall praise Thomas' victories, songs will be sung about Jean!
